In Greene County district court Michael Allen Olson, 60, of Jefferson was sentenced Aug. 29 to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary- second degree. The prison term is consecutive to terms in other Greene County cases; however, it was suspended and Olson was placed on probation for two years to the Iowa Department of Corrections. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. The court found him unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees or court costs. A case in magistrate court in which Olson was charged with theft- fifth degree was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Kurt Stoebe)
Kimberly Ann Conner, 62, of Jefferson was sentenced Aug. 29 to 10 years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of theft- first degree. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. She was ordered to pay $25,266.69 victim restitution. She was also fined $1,370 with a $205.50 surcharge. Forty-nine counts of dependent adult exploitation greater than $100 were dismissed, as was a charge of ongoing criminal conduct- unlawful activity. Jerry M. Peckumn, 69, of Jefferson was fined $260 with a $39 surcharge on a charge open container of alcohol in vehicle, amended from operating while intoxicated. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Richard Allen Keller, 41, of Grand Junction was sentenced Aug. 29 to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense. He was also sentenced to 365 days in jail on a charge of person ineligible to carry dangerous weapon. The terms of incarceration are concurrent to sentences in other Greene County cases. Keller was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge (suspended on the drug offense, and $430 with a $64.50 surcharge on the weapons charge. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Rodney Charles Sheffield, 35, of Scranton, theft- fourth degree and unauthorized use of credit card less than $1,500; Rick Eugene Tuhn Jr, 42, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred; Peter Edward Miover, 51, of Boone, fraudulent practice- second degree, gambling- avoid setoff; and Troy Richard Dougherty, 51, of Ames, fraudulent practice- second degree, gambling- avoid setoff. Trial dates were set for Sept. 27 for Tuhn and for Nov. 2 for Sheffield, Miover and Dougherty.

Norgart, 54, of Spencer, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; and Paul David Wright, 45, of West Des Moines, gambling- avoid setoff.
